Students of different categories participate in minivôlei festival at the Center Saint Vincent.
The minivôlei festival organized on June 25 by the Center Saint Vincent gave new experiences to children and adolescents of the project Volleyball Network in Campinas / SP. The event brought together students from different categories that might play together and share what they have learned during minivôlei classes. For teachers and Antonio Carlos Rodrigues Laerte, the result of this integration was very positive, because they observed that students practiced the values taught in the Methodology Share Initiation Volleyball. The reaction of the kids was blessed to participate in activities.
The event began with a chat between the participants about the importance of the event. Then, about 60 students from categories Mini 3 × 3, 4 × 4 Mini Volleyball and - and some of the beginner category Mini 2 × 2 - mingled and went to the courts to have fun with colleagues. They played in blocks of categories Mini 3 × 3 and Mini 4 × 4 and at the end, told the teachers what they thought.
For younger students, the event made it possible to understand different game situations, since they experienced the sport in a category above them, with more members in teams, with different weights of balls and nets in a little higher altitudes. These factors contributed to them to understand the next steps that will be submitted within the project Volleyball Network, and motivated the kids to continue attending classes.
Exchange of experiences on volleyball and values is the main feature of the event.
"I really enjoyed playing occupying other spaces and with a different number of people," explained the delighted student Marcos Vinicius Carvalho, 10, the Mini 2 × 2. The student fellow, Nathaly da Silva, 10, noticed the difference in rules between the categories. "I found it very different because we can not pass the ball straight and they can," he said referring to the obligation not to carry out three hits in Mini 2 × 2. On that occasion, the teachers took the opportunity to explain the importance of the methodology and the role of volleyball fundamentals.
"Older students could revive previous situations, resuming the walk they did to get where they are and also apply important values, especially cooperation, responsibility and respect by playing together and help their younger colleagues," said Laertes Rodrigues. Students had not yet participated in an integration event like this. Teachers reported that they were surprised with the satisfaction shown by the kids and they did not expect something as simple as bringing them together to chat and play could cause so much excitement and enthusiasm.
