Over 400 games were held in this edition of Paraná Volleyball Cup.
More than 1,8mil athletes and coaching staff base of Brazilian volleyball teams participated in the 12th Paraná Cup during the October 29 to November 2. In maximum number of people present, ten states of the country were represented in about 400 male and female games. During the games, some personalities of the sport were present: Olympians Gustavo, Fernanda Garay and Adenízia, and Giovane Gávio (double Olympic champion and current coach of SESI / SP), the former athlete Filho, Olympic champion in Barcelona 1992 and the coordinator the Brazilian Confederation of Volleyball for beach volleyball, Jaqueline Silva, multicampeã mode, including the Olympics.

To Josmar Coelho, general manager of the event and pedagogical coordinator of the project Nuclei Initiation Volleyball in Paraná Institute Share, this was a historical issue. Despite the bad weather in Curitiba, the organizing committee managed to overcome problems with leak and unroofing of some gyms to proceed to competition without compromising the schedule. By day, the average games surpassed the mark of 90 matches in seven gyms spread across various regions.

Volleyball Paraná cup is held by Paranaense Volleyball Federation, sponsored by Asics.
