Healthcare students from the University Potiguar (UNP), partner in the project, were at the Center Natal / RN during the days 12 to 14 April to guide students, teachers and trainees as to combat dengue and give information about the disease. To make it playful, nursing students prepared a puppet theater and a booklet with tips for prevention.
There was also a contest of questions and answers that tested whether students have understood the subject. In the following days the guidelines, teachers asked students if they applied the knowledge: "I enjoyed the lecture and learned many things, for example, not
leave water. In my house had a pitcher with water and after the lecture I put sand when it rains my mother puts the head of vessels down, "says the student Lycian Rachel, 9 years.
Many students live in high risk of dengue infection areas and therefore as much information they have, the better. Since the entry of the UNP as a partner in the project Volleyball Network in 2010, the health care provide academic guidance to the core workshops. "The lectures help in promoting the health of students and the community to which they belong," says Professor Claudio Araujo.
