Presentation of the plan "Curitiba: Sport is more" reveals proposals for the Social Legacy of mega sporting events

Representatives of 21 institutions involved in the preparation of the document, attended the presentation of the proposal, held in the City Hall of Curitiba.

Took place on June 11, the public ceremony of presentation of the Sports Action Plan for all of the city of Curitiba, third stage of the Cup of Cities Project. Held in Curitiba Municipal Camera, the event was attended by municipal secretaries of Sport, Recreation and Youth, Aluisio de Oliveira, and the World Cup, Reginald Lamb. The executive manager of the Institute Share Luiz Fernando Nascimento, was representing the institution and the Rems - Sport for Social Change Network - for being the only member of Parana. Also present were representatives of 21 other entities of the First, Second and Third Sector, involved in drafting the plan.

The Copa Cities Project, designed by the Institute Sport Education (IEE) and supported by the Municipal Department of Sport, Recreation and Youth, Rems, UNICEF and Athletes for Citizenship, aims to contribute to the country's efforts to build the social legacy of the mega sporting events - World Cup 2014 and the Olympic and Paralympic Games 2016 - ensuring all men and women the right to sport. "It's very important to take this scenario and think about the social and sporting legacy for all and not only to football and to the infrastructure of the city," said Luiz Fernando.

Luiz Fernando Nascimento presents the specific objectives and plan goals "Curitiba: Sport is more".

The plan "Curitiba: Sport is more" was presented to the municipal secretaries and Councilman Paulo Rink, chairman of the Special Commission of 2014 Curitiba Chamber Cup for the proposed actions can be evaluated for possible realization in the city of Curitiba. The document has goals, strategies, indicators and targets, for example, increase by 15% the number of events / sports projects for all, increase the number of physical activity of participants in vulnerable areas, increasing the practice of bicycle use and reduce the dropout rate in the cold months. During the public presentation, Patricia Baliski, from Curitiba core of the Centre for Cities, read the letter "Movement for the social legacy of mega sports events" and Luiz Fernando by the coordinator of the sports projects of the Little Prince Complex, Rodrigo Barp, concluded the meeting with the presentation of the specific objectives and proposed goals.
