Share institute participates Cup Cities project

Project aims to contribute to ensuring the right to sport to all Brazilians.

The arrival of two mega sports events in Brazil, the World Cup 2014 and the Olympic Games / Paralympic Games 2016 can bring benefits to the Brazilian population, which go beyond issues related to infrastructure, communication and transport. Thinking about it, the Sport Education Institute (EEI) conceived the project "Cities of the World Cup," which, in Curitiba, with the participation of the Institute Share, with regard to support the dissemination of the project and the mobilization of local organizations.

"Cities of the World Cup" aims to build a social and sporting legacy that promotes the development of sports in all cities hosting the World Cup. Among the project's goals are to double the number of sports practitioners and provide access in schools for all children and adolescents by 2016. The Sports Network for Social Change (Rems) is an entity that supports the project and the Institute Share It is the only institution of Paraná which is among the 46 members of the network, in addition to the Council of Representatives of the organization.

In Curitiba, the project was launched in the days 2:03 April to discuss, plan and organize actions aimed at social and sporting legacy to the country. The second stage, scheduled for 29 and 30 April, is the development of the action plan, with the participation of government, civil society and representatives of city sport area. In May, on 27 and 28, there will be the third and final stage, which is the presentation and implementation of Sport for All Action Plan in the Legislative Assembly.

For Sport Secretary, Leisure and Youth Curitiba, Aluísio Junior, the sport needs to be addressed in all its complexity, with the preparation of well-defined and structured projects. "Today, in Brazil, we deal with public policy issues for the sport as an emergency, not in a structured way. Solve problems of everyday life without discussing relevant issues for the sports development in the country, "he said. Luiz Fernando Nascimento, executive manager of Share, agrees with the secretary, "the important and opportune time to discuss sporting legacy and public policy in the long run." And adds: "Sharing engaged in the Curitiba stage and has been following what going on in the other host cities."

The "Cities of the World Cup" also has the support of the Municipal Secretary of Sports, Leisure and Youth, Rems, UNICEF and Athletes for Citizenship. It was made possible with the sponsorship of CCR and Instituto Votorantim, through the Sports Incentive Law, the Ministry of Sports.
