Representatives of Brazilian NGOs participating in the training conducted by Peace Players International (PPI).
The Share Institute was among the entities invited to attend a training in conflict resolution methodology of Peace Players International (PPI), supported by the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation. The event met on 09-12 of July, about 20 people in the Association of Employees in Trade of Rio de Janeiro, a place with room for accommodation, conference room and gymnasium.
The PPI, international NGO working on territorial conflict regions such as Israel, Ireland and Cyprus and uses basketball to help young people overcome cycles of conflict, as well as educate them and unite them. During the training, the Organizational Learning Specialist PPI (free translation: Specialist Organizational Learning), Gunnar Hagstrom, presented the Anatomy of Peace (name given to the methodology) for coordinators of NGOs working in Rio de Janeiro so that it can also It is used in other social projects.
The analyst projects the Institute Share, Ana Elisa Caron, and the coordinator of the Rio Nuclei / RJ, Renata Régis, accompanied all activities developed by Gunnar. The first day of the event was intended to presentations of institutions, made by its representatives, and group integration. On 10 and 11 coordinators and teachers present were involved in theoretical and practical exercises on the concepts of Anatomy of Peace. They might include, for example, the difference between seeing a person as a person and as an object and also the importance of knowing the own perceptions and then understand the perceptions of others.

"The interesting Peace anatomy presented was the possibility of using the concepts without major changes in the methodology already used by each organization. They show a new look at the people we work with and especially for our students, "says Ana Elisa.
On the last day of the training, the participants prepared an action plan in order to apply the content learned within their realities with the students themselves. In addition to the Institute Share, the Laureus Sport for Good and PPI, attended the event other entities related to the sport like Child Hope Space, Reaction Institute, Instituto Bola pra Frente, Rumo Náutico Institute - Grael Project, Gol de Letra Foundation, Winning - Partners of America, Institute 'Magic and Promundo - most member of the Sport for Social Change Network (Rems).
"It was a week very stimulating and exciting for the exchange of experiences with other projects," concludes Renata Régis. The invitation to the Institute Share to be part of the training came with the visit of members of the Laureus Sport for Good and PPI in the first half of 2013, the Rio Nuclei / RJ project Volleyball Network to learn about the work of the institution.
