Share The Institute is among the 52 Brazilian organizations of Sport for Social Change Network (Rems) - organization that aims to promote integration between public, private and third sector for human development through sport. On 20 and 21 May, there was the XIII Meeting of the Rems in Brasilia and on 22 the Office of the Sports Incentive Law, promoted by the network in partnership with the Ministry of Sports and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). The workshop was part of the activities of the International Seminar II of the Regulatory Framework of Civil Society, held between 21 and 23.
The XIII Meeting of the Rems aimed to present the progress of strategic planning to all network members. On the first day, the executive manager of the Institute Share Luiz Fernando Nascimento - Nando - presented the achievements of the Great Action Line on management, which is a leader. Part of the event was devoted to the preparation for the Workshop Sports Incentive Law, which took place on 22, the II International Seminar on Regulatory Framework of Civil Society, also in Brasilia. The seminar forms the Arena schedule of Social Participation, a realization of the Presidency Secretariat General's Office.
The main objective of the workshop was to contribute to the strengthening and consolidation of the Sports Incentive Law as an instrument of democratization of access to sport in Brazil, through a debate between civil society and the government. The entities representing the Rems during the dialogue were Institute Joaquim Cruz (Ricardo Vidal) and the entity Athletes by Brazil (Daniela Castro), but the table was also composed of representatives of the Ministry of Sports (John Tajara) and Votorantim Institute (Diogo Quinterio), and the UNDP (Maristela Baioni) - as moderator. The theme is relevant in the current context experienced by the country, which will host the World Cup 2014 and the Olympics and Paralimpíadas 2016. Through Incentive Law, Real profit companies can allocate up to 1% of their income tax to projects sports.
